WAS meeting Israel 2012

The Israeli Wiskott Aldrich Syndrome Association has initiated and organized a first conference in Israel which focused on the syndrome.

The conference was in June 2012 at the Sheba Medical Center in Israel, as part of the periodical conference of the Israeli association of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, attended by hematologists and pediatric bone marrow transplant specialists.

The conference was attended by 80 doctors and researchers in the field of immunology and pediatric hematology. Conference guests were Prof. Adrian Trasher of Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, UK a WAS research specialist whose expertise includes gene therapy, and Prof. Lisa Filipovich of Cincinnati Children's Hospital in the US, a WAS BMT and post-BMT immune reconstruction specialist. Dr. Polina Stepensky of the Hadassah Medical Center Department of Pediatric Hemato-Oncology reviewed BMTs in WAS patients in Israel. Conference lectures are available on YouTube WAS  Israel channel.
